Country Representative, India

 

Amit Kumar Singh is ASI’s country representative in India. He is an agribusiness and market development specialist with more than 15 years of experience conceptualizing, executing, and managing agriculture and livelihoods development programs in a wide range of value chains, including wheat, paddy, horticulture, as well as forestry and value-added products. Amit has dedicated his career to strengthening communities and has been responsible for projects that organized 100,000 smallholder farmers into self-help and producer finance groups. He also brings expertise in conducting large-scale research studies, including baseline and end-term assessments, for USAID, DFID, the Ford Foundation, and UNIDO, among others, and is passionate about developing new tools using Participatory Rapid Appraisals (PRA). In his current capacity as country representative, Amit provides day-to-day team leadership and direction for ASI’s portfolio of supply chain strengthening activities, with a particular focus on female and landless farmers.
